Every couple has their thing, right? Their song, their TV show, their vacation spot? For Heather and Micah, their thing is Phantom of the Opera. They went to a show together early on in their courtship, and it's been a shared love of theirs ever since. I was stoked for their themed wedding ever after shooting their Phantom-themed engagement shoot, but was completely unprepared for the Hogwarts-level of magic that wedding planner Candice Ford conjured for this Halloween weekend wedding.
My second, Christine, and I felt like the proverbial kids in a candy store as we played around with the masks and lanterns the bridesmaids carried in lieu of bouquets. I stole some flameless candles (with permission) to pop into the lanterns, which Heather loved so much that the bridesmaids ended up using the candles during the ceremony. An array of masquerade attire allowed the guests to mask up, turning the ceremony into a sea of glitter and feathers. Heather walked down the aisle to the spine-tingling Phantom theme, and Micah's brother officiated a sweet fantasy-inspired service, which opened with a Tolkien-worthy tale alluding to Heather as a phoenix and Micah, a dragon. Instead of a first dance, the newlyweds sang Phantom's "All I Ask Of You," which includes these lyrics -
Say you'll share with me one love, one lifetime / Say the word and I will follow you / Say you love me / You know I do
Indeed, with a love this strong and sweet and stable, we all know they do. I wish you a lifetime of magic, Mr and Mrs Schnarr.
